Four Months!

I must say that I do love October and will miss it. It has been such a fun month and we tried our best to teach our kids just how fun October can be.
We carved a pumpkin, Maggie designed the face we carved onto it. It looked strangely similiar to the french peas from Veggie Tales. The kids enjoyed sticking their hands inside the gooey innards.

I love Haven's look in this picture, I imagine that someone said "boo" behind her.
We tested out some different costumes before settling on our wardrobe for the big day. Haven tried out Maggie's old chick costume. It was a tad too large, but mighty cute and dare I say chic.
Halloween was a fun day for us. Maggie wore her Rapunzel costume to pre-school but changed into Jesse for the real trick or treating portion. Her favorite part was when she yodeled like Jesse and the fact that she got to "wear" freckles.
One of our favorite Halloween traditions is eating chili with the Dyer family before trick or treating. Yes, we have a Halloween tradition, don't you? This year proved to be another great year and the kids were pretty much professionals. I mean they've been doing this for years, so why not.

Henry dressed up like Superman for his visit to the YMCA in the morning. They were handing out candy and his first choice costume for the Halloween festivities was Superman. But, by the afternoon he was ready for a change, so he switched over to Thor. We made this sweet hammer a few hours before the big excursion and it added a nice touch to his fearsome look.
And then there is this little pumpkin...so sweet and cute enough to eat.

All's Fair

So, while we were in town visiting Rees we just had to stop by the SC State Fair before we headed home. It was the kids first time and they had a ball. We met up with one of our most favorite people on the planet and a celebrity in the Dirk's house...BRODY! Seeing him was almost as exciting as being at the fair itself...well just maybe it was more exciting.

And, we have our Grandpa Dog to thank for this picture. Maggie bought this cotton candy all by herself with the money Dog left her during his last visit to NC. She got the money out of the piggy bank and decided to use it on pink cotton candy. She even practiced her lines in the morning. She said Mommy I am going to say (to the vendor) "sir may have some pink cotton candy please." True story, unfortunately for her it was a lady that sold her the puffy sugar so she had to tweak her lines a bit. But, she did a sensational job nonetheless. Thanks Dog I think we spent your money just as you would've wanted, only wish you could have been there with us to see and taste just how well.

Meeting Rees

Last week we drove down to Columbia to meet our newest family member, James Rees Zaepfel. He may have been the tiniest baby I have ever held. He was so quiet and sweet and looks just like his Daddy.
Haven and Rees are only three months apart and I think they will grow up to be really good buddies.

We thought that eating the bojangles would be as fun as our meal got, but Trooper proved us wrong by turning our take out box into a race car. It's Big Bro Time!
Sweet little Rees, I have a feeling that he won't be staying little for long. After all he is a Zaepfel and they grow pretty big!

Loves my babies Daddy

Y'all I have the best husband in the whole world! He loves me and takes care of me so well. He leads our family and gives so selflessly of himself. He is patient, wise, kind and Christ-like in so many capacities. No it's not our anniversary or anything, I just wanted to show him some blog love. He deserves it and so much more. He sets such a good example for our children and I pray that our girls will find men as amazing as their Daddy someday....a long long long time in the future (I might add). Wrestling with our in house superheroes.
And he even takes the time to bath the little one.

three months!

Henry isn't the only three we celebrate this month! Our little Haven Katelin turned three months old this month. She is as cute as ever and growing like a weed.She loves her playmates. I think her face says it all here.
And, drum roll please...she has discovered her thumb! Looks like we may have another Maggie-type thumb sucker on our hands as oppose to a Henry-ish paci-type baby (this makes sense right?). This little discovery has been especially helpful at bed time!
But, she is still working on leaving herself an air hole, she's not quite sure of what to do with those other fingers.

Henry turns three!

These pictures are a little backwards, but today we celebrated Henry! We started the day with breakfast, hot chocolate and presents. Headed to the playground, at the birthday boys request, for a picnic lunch and then wrapped up the day with some cake after dinner with our super hero friends. We strongly encouraged everyone to dress up like super heroes and our guests did not disappoint. There were some sharp looking caped avengers, even the Dads joined in on the fun. Henry had a blast and we are glad that he felt so loved by his friends and family. He is such a fun kid and so silly. He is a joy to us and we were so happy to celebrate his life today. Thanks for all the calls from family far away that couldn't make it, they mean a lot to us. Love y'all too. We continue to praise the Lord for creating this sweet guy and look forward to year three with our Henny Man.
