I may be out of a job.

Don't Fear...

Spider Man is here!
Halloween came a little early this year at the Dirks homestead. This masked crusader has been roaming the halls and climbing the walls. He serves and protects...and he even babysits. What does he simply ask for in return? Peace and justice for all.

Go Cats!

So I was looking through the pictures on our digital camera and I came across this one of the kids in their K-State duds. Turns out that they woke up early one morning, put on their wildcat outfits, and took a self-timer picture of themselves! These kids sure are wild about Kansas State! Go Cats!

Silly Kids

Here are a few fun pics from our week.
Maggie discovered that her legs and arms are now long enough to shimmy up the doorway. Henry tried but he is not quite long enough, so he settled for a photo bomb.
Maggie and Henry continue to induct Haven into the family with pranks and the like. Here they have stickered her "bum bum" a phrase that likes to be said often and with continual giggles linked to it.
Henry and Tyler grilling together. Henry has taken over the job of overseer.
And the main event this week was a trip to "cowboy" night at chickfila. There were pony rides, balloons, free food and story time with a real life Jesse from toy story. When we got there we headed straight to the line. Maggie stepped right up to the front and was ready to go, this wasn't her first rodeo.Loving it! Ride em' Cowgirl! The Colorado kid, however was a little afraid and didn't want to ride. So, we gave him a little pep talk, without success. After we ate we took him over to "pet" the pony; only we pet the pony while putting Henry into the saddle. The woman leading the pony knew our plan and started walking the pony right away and instead of tears a huge grin took over Henry's entire face. He was so proud of himself (and I didn't feel quite so bad about tricking him into it). Of course I walked around with him and it was a lot of fun.
He even wanted to ride again, and he did! Way to go Henry and thanks for a good ride Smokey.

2 months!

Yesterday Haven celebrated her two month birthday! She is such a precious baby. She is so smiley and pleasant. She loves getting attention from her family (and as I've mentioned before she gets plenty of it). Maggie wants to put bows in her hair every day and Henry wants to hold her often. She loves milk and gives really really big smiles after her tummy is all filled up.

Backpack love

This picture was a request after I posted Maggie's comment about her back pack on FB the other day, in case you missed it here is what she said. After her first day of school (which was great) I told her that she gets to go back again and in response she said very enthusiastically "that is great because I love my back pack!"
This is the first back to school picture she posed for on her first day back. I didn't tell her to turn around she just assumed I wanted to take a pic of that rockin' princess pack.

A Special Day

Today was a very special day here as it was Maggie's first day of pre-school. She just loves school and she was very excited to return this year. A few of her friends from her class last year are in her class again this year, which is a real treat. Here is Maggie with her teachers Ms. Catrina and Ms. Alaina.
And, here she is looking all grown up for her first day of her last year of pre-school. Next year we will have a kindergartner in our home and I can't even begin to believe it! Seriously where does the time go?
Henry will go to pre-school next year. In the mean time I am looking forward to a little more one on one time with my sweet little guy at home while big sister is out. Today we went to CFA to have some fun of our own. Henry was quick to make friends with this little girl on the playground. He ate up all his chicken and the extra Mommy attention too.
My fella is growing up so fast. So sweet and so handsome!
And last but not least, this little sugar plum had a very special day too. She got a bath from her Daddy and made the day even cuter for us all.
