Well, this saturday Tyler has to go to presbytery to discuss RUF stuff, so our family had a saturday on thursday if you will. We started the morning at Cracker Barrell. Maggie sat next to the door so as people (mostly older) came in they ooed and ahhed over her, she slept through the attention (so we think...she could have been faking). Anywas, after the Barrell we headed to the US rafting center and ran into our friend Jennifer (a manager at the park) and tons of kayaking Olympic candidates. It was really fun to watch them come down through the course. But, on the way home things got dark. Tyler hit not one but two squirrels in less than thirty seconds with our car. You've heard of two birds with one stone, well try two squirrels with one dodge (which they did not do). We were still pretty close to the park so it might be the water. I have no clue, but we were only going like 30 mph when we hit them, it was like slow motion. It was terrible. Maggie thankfully was asleep and we're hoping not scarred from her mother's blood curdling cry...just kidding...I only said "Tyler you hit ANOTHER squirrel(not in a proud way, but in a sort of shocked way)." SO, those are the Dirk's family adventures from this thursday.

one fun weekend
This weekend was full oh fun for the Dirks fam. The weekend started out with a lovely visit from great aunt Margaret Jean from Texas. Maggie was super excited to meet another Margaret and the two hit it off smashingly. Maggie even played a little joke on aunt Margaret Jean (once she felt comfortable with her of course) by pooping through her clothes so that when aunt MJ rubbed her back she would find a little surprise. Then on saturday Maggie headed to her first blue grass concert and got to play with her friend Adah, mommy's college roomies daughter. They really enjoyed hanging out as you can see from the pics. And, then the Poole's brought us all a yummy dinner and some great company saturday night. We had a really fun time. Hope you enjoy this blog, typed with only one hand, it's been quite a skill that I have developed.

one month old...and three days (but who's counting)
Maggie had her one month check up on monday and she was 9lbs 3oz and 21 inches. She is very healthy and in the 50th percentile. We couldn't be happier, the Lord continues to bless us!

almost a month!
Well, this sunday Maggie turns one month old and today she is officially 4 weeks old. I feel like we have a pretty good little routine going these days, it is definitely not clockwork but we can pretty much count on the every three hour feeding (a little less than that near bedtime) at least one four hour sleep cycle at night (which is pretty exciting for me) and all around the clock cuteness. Here are a few more pics from our week.

Happy Easter!
Maggie officially celebrated her first Easter this weekend. Saturday morning Maggie attended the Uptown Church Easter egg hunt, and she found one egg! We are very proud of her (okay we helped..but we only picked it up and gave it to her the rest she did by herself). She also attended the Hunt's annual egg dying party and she slept through all of that (she likes her sleep and we like her sleep). But, last night she was up until 11pm, we think it was because she was so excited about Easter today! Then today we headed to church and Maggie slept through most of sunday school and all of the worship service much to Mommy and Daddy's delight, so we were able to meditate on the real reason we celebrate this weekend. So in conclusion, this has been a lovely Easter weekend to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and King Jesus, who conquered death for us! Praise the Lord! And to friends and family, we hope you all had a very happy Easter.

Mother daughter outing take one
Well, today I officially left the house, got in the car and went to a doctor's appt. with a newborn all by myself. Maggie did so well, that on the way back we stopped off at freedom park and walked a loop around the pond. Maggie fell asleep during mommy's appt. and then stayed asleep for the journey to the park. Now we are home and Maggie was very hungry from her trip so she had a lovely lunch and then enjoyed the outdoors at our house before settling down for another nap. And, so that brings everyone up to speed on our exciting outing. Here are a few pics from this week.
