RUF Fall Retreat
Every year we have the pleasure of taking our Johnson and Wales students to Camp Greystone for RUF's annual Fall retreat. This year it rained all weekend, but it did not stop us from having a great time and learning about the great God that we serve.
The rain did clear up Sunday right before we left so we were able to take our traditional group picture by the lake. This was the crazy one FYI.
So many students were signed up to come (from the entire region) that we almost thought the kids wouldn't be able to come with us. But, thankfully we all made it and Henry was able to enjoy a friendly cup of joe with Mr. Leo.
We played mafia.
And lots of spoons, card games and bananagrams. Saturday night there was a hoe down too, which is always a blast .
After the conference ended on Sunday we went into Hendersonville for some lunch at Mike's soda shop. And, some of the girls posed on this Alice in Wonderland apple. It was a great weekend and we love to see our RUF-fers enjoying each other through fellowship and most importantly learning about our Lord.
Chick-fil-A fun!
Last Thursday Chick-fil-A hosted a Western Night and the Dirk's family mosied on over to check it out. There were pony rides, games, free chick-fil-a, the cow, crafts and line dancing. Maggie tried out her cowgirl skills on a pint-size, no quarter necessary pony. She was super cute and really enjoyed herself.
Right before we went inside Tyler noticed a potential deterrent to our evening of fun. It seemed Henry was having some stomach issues and had completely messed up his outfit. And, me being the oh so prepared mom that I am could not muster up a change of clothes. (I mean he is almost one and I thought we were over this phase in my defense.) But, nevertheless we had a situation on our hands. Normal folks would have counted their losses, packed their bags and headed home, but not the Dirk's crew. We stripped our boy down cleaned him up and headed inside for some fun in the buff.
It was hardly noticeable.
