Just in case...

Just in case you thought our kids were the only cute ones, here's proof that Tyler and I have it going on too. We went to a halloween party Saturday night, the theme was "musical couples," and so Tyler and I went as the Blues Brothers. I wore some tall boots so I could tower over Tyler in his fat suit. We looked pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Okay not as cute as a lion and bat, but pretty close.

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a very enjoyable halloween weekend, we sure did! Without further ado, grandparents, I present to you...
Drum roll please...a "smooth" bat(dubbed by Maggie because of the cape's fine fabric) and a lion dressed to kill (recently awoken from his nap).

Spreading her bat wings.
Every halloween (since we've had kids) we have gone trick or treating with our good pals the Dyers only after enjoying a delicious bowl of home made chili. This year was no different. Here are our cute kiddos dressed up for an exciting evening of collecting candy and spreading cuteness to all peoples.
The little guys opted for the wagon ride.
But, the big girls trekked onward by foot. What a fun night, thanks Dyers!

pumpkins and super heroes

Last week we had some fun kid events going on in Charlotte, starting with a trip to the pumpkin patch with Maggie's pre-school class on Tuesday. Henry and I (Carrie) tagged along for the fun at Hunter's farm. Here we are admiring a similar tractor to the one that was about to pull us on a hay ride.
One of Maggie's teachers, Ms Evelyn, showing her the cool variety of gourds offered at the farm.
One kid feeding another kid.
Loving the sibling "pumpkin patch" photo shoot.
Then Thursday night we headed to Chick-fil-a for super hero night and got ourselves some free chicken! Henry is still pretty terrified of the cow, but not bat girl.
We love chick-fil-a, especially when it's free,
Henry may have been afraid of the cow but he has no fear when it comes to nerf guns. I attempted to show him how to use it properly and in the middle of my demonstration Henry hit a little spider man on the forehead with his nerf dart. It was pretty funny, and no worries spider man deflected it with his super powers and no one was hurt.

2 cool...

Here are a few fun pics from Henry's birthday last week. We celebrated with friends on his actual birthday and then headed to SC for some fun with the fam on Saturday(and to watch USC beat Bama)!
Henry opened presents first thing on Oct. 7th and also enjoyed some yummy birthday pancakes.
And he quickly got to work playing with his fun new gifts.
Thursday night we had a few friends over for some cake and cookie. Maggie offers her Vanna pose to present the sugary goodness.

Three cheers for friends!
and cool costumes from friends...
Then off to Poppa and Grandma's house for some fun with the family.
A party truly isn't complete without our cousin Brody.
Grandma delivered an awesome party for Henry complete with a Thomas cupcake cake and Thomas hats, plates and lots more. Henry loved it! Thanks so much Grandma for making our little guy feel so special.

Hope Builders 5k

Last Saturday, in between birthday parties, we raced in the Hope Builders 5k benefiting Levine Children's hospital. It was a great race and the weather was perfect. We met up with our pals the Dyers and started our day off well. We even had our very own cheerleader with us in the jogging stroller to brighten the mood further. Maggie took to cheering "go mama go, go mama go, go daddy go" while we ran. She was quite and encouragement to not only us, but the other runners as well. This was nice since Henry was trying his best to do the opposite. While Maggie cheered Henry would whine "I wanna hold you Mama." Of course this was an impossible request, yet one he made over and over again. He eventually quieted down and enjoyed the run and later enjoyed some fun post run activities after we crossed the finish line.
